Alyson Thiel
I am a visual artist and teacher based in Pittsburgh, PA. I paint, I make flowers from paper, and I teach classes and workshops.
I am passionate about colors, textures, lines, and shapes: I make paintings that celebrate the relationship that these elements have with one another. My paper flowers are like paintings in themselves: reactions to color, texture, line, and shape in nature represented in paper, paint, glue, and wire. My work in the classroom inspires my artmaking process: working alongside children reminds me to let go of inhibition, embrace the silly, and never stop playing.
Have a question or want to talk? I love collaborating, sharing my work, and learning more about processes, paint, paper, and creative play! Iād love to hear from you!
